At the Foot of Adventure

At Lorpen we support those who love the outdoors, and who seek-out personal challenges, large or small.

We also lend our support to important figures, both national and international. Below are a few established figures that have spent years trusting Lorpen's quality, and who provide us with a unparalled all-weather testing ground for our products.

Iker and Eneko Pou

Iker and Eneko Pou, known as The Pou Brothers, are two of the world's most accomplished big wall free climbers. From Basque, these two travel all over the world seeking out their next great challenge.

Eneko started climbing in 1991 with his brother Iker, although, by then, they had already been through most of the tops of the Pyrenees and some of the most important ones in the Alps with their parents.

While Iker is going the sports climbing way, Eneko goes the versatility way in the mountain

Most recently, Iker and Eneko Pou finished their most complicated project to date. "Orbayu" route on El Naranjo de Bulnes in Spain, proposed as a 8c+/9a difficulty. The Basque brothers completed the route in 8 hectic hours, climbing each one of the 16 pitches on their first try, using only their hands and feet (freeclimbing).

Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner & Ralf Dujmovits

Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner and Ralf Dujmovits are professional mountain climbers from Austria. Ralf is an expedition organizer and state-certified mountain and ski guide. They have been married since the beginning of the year and live together in the Black Forest. They are masters in sport climbing and expedition mountaineering.

In August 2011, Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner became the third woman to climb the fourteen eight-thousanders, and the first woman to do so without the use of supplementary oxygen.

Denis & Tanja Katzer

A 30 year long journey - the longest expedition ever documented in human history, that is the goal of adventurers Denis Katzer and his wife Tanya. As filmmakers, photographers and writers they now dedicate themselves to their life project, "The Great Journey".

The two have travelled 275,000 km by camel, horse, elephant, on foot or by local means of transport. Their Great Journey takes them to the boundaries of countries, continents, people and cultures - and is a trip to the limits of physical and mental capabilities of humankind.

We wish all of our athletes the best of luck on their adventures and hope their Lorpen socks help keep them on their toes!
